Globalization and Labor Markets in Latin America conference

On October 20-21, 2003, GPN participated in the Globalization and Labor Markets in Latin America conference sponsored by the Inter-America Development Bank (IDB), the Western Hemisphere Labor Federation (ORIT) and the government of Brazil. The meeting was held in the Brazilian capital, Brasilia.

Under an agreement reached during an on-going dialogue between the IDB and ORIT/GPN, the IDB commissioned three papers and ORIT/GPN commissioned three papers. At the conference, each paper had a respondent from the other side. The three papers done by GPN partners were: Labor Rights and DevelopmentAdobe Acrobat (PDF) by the Institute for Labor Studies (Mexico); Compensation and Regional and Sub-Regional IntegrationAdobe Acrobat (PDF) by the National Labor College (Colombia); and Viability of Pension ProgramsAdobe Acrobat (PDF) by DIEESE (Brazil).
